What you'll need

  • Some work history (including supervisor emails and phone numbers)
  • Be ready to read and agree to some lifestyle commitments
  • 5 references with email addresses & phone numbers (but only 3 have to send it in)
You should plan on the application taking you some dedicated time.  It's designed to help you discern some of what it will mean to join InnerCHANGE, and will give you an idea of what's expected.

AUTHORIZATION FOR PERSONAL REFERENCE AND CREDIT INFORMATION

CRM specializes in interpersonal ministry often involving sensitive issues, and a high degree of trust is placed on CRM employees.  As a result, CRM requires employees who possess exemplary work histories, display financial responsibility and provide favorable references.

By submitting this application for employment, the applicant hereby consents and authorizes CRM to thoroughly investigate the applicant's complete employment history, financial and credit status, available references, criminal record and other information pertinent to the performance of the prospective position with CRM.  The applicant waives any right against CRM for investigating such information.

Although CRM's investigation is performed with the utmost care and discretion possible, the applicant acknowledges that CRM disclaims responsibility for any injury the applicant may suffer caused by CRM's investigation.  (Please let us know if there is anyone mentioned in this application that we should not contact and the reasons why.  Also please contact your references and previous employers, etc now, before you submit your application.  They will/may be notified soon after receiving your application.)

CRM's investigation of the applicant may include, but is not limited to, credit checks, financial investigations, contacting previous employers and/or references, obtaining additional references from several of the people the applicant has listed, as well as utilizing national index information.

summerXchange Dating Policy 

We're not down on dating. Many of us have dated, quite successfully, and are pleased with the results!  So, don't get us wrong when we say that dating relationships can affect summerXchange teams in significant ways.  Because of this, we've come up with some guidelines that we want you to know about and agree with. 

  • Don't start dating during the summer.  If you're dating before it starts, that's cool, but if not, don't start anything.
  • No making out with anyone during summerXchange... even your significant other.  
    • Making out with someone from the neighborhood will get you sent home in a hurry. (Yeah, doesn't seem like we'd need to say it, but we do and we will.)
  • Do not make plans for your significant other to visit you during the summer.  It's 6 weeks; you can make it.

The IC Apprenticeship Handbook currently states:

"Due to the demands and commitments of internships, we ask interns who are considering marriage to wait until after their internship.  New dating relationships, while not prohibited, must not compete with an intern's primary commitments."

 

In addition, each team may have more specific dating guidelines relevant to their team and ministry context.  This agreement includes an expectation that you will consult with your mentor and team leader regarding your dating status as needed.
