<p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">The Smart Cycling Course includes tips and techniques that increase the benefits of vehicular bicycling and stay safe while bicycling.</span></p><p>
</p><p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Vehicular cycling (also known as bicycle driving) is the practice of riding bicycles on roads in a manner that is in accordance with the principles for driving in traffic. The course is two sections. The course combines online instruction (section 1) with parking lot and on-road practice (section 2) of vehicular bicycling principles.</span></p><p>

</p><p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Course Description</span></p><p>
</p><p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(90, 90, 90);">Participants must complete the online self guided course (section 1). https://learn.bikeleague.org/ prior to the course date. The Certificate of Completion must be sent to the course instructor or brought to the bike skills course (electronic certificates are acceptable). </span></p><p>
</p><p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(90, 90, 90);">The Smart Cycling Manual is available for reference to this guided course and can be requested with registration.</span></p><p>
</p><p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">The session (section 2) begins with a 2 hour review of the online course material. The on-bike portion of the course is approximately 2 hours which will require a bike and helmet and begin with a safety check, skills demonstrations and practice and conclude with a road course. The instructor teaching this course has over 20 years and over 50K miles of roadway cycling experience and commutes by bicycle an average of 5,000 miles a year. </span>https://www.strava.com/athletes/2563124</p><p>
</p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Note: Upon successful completion of Smart Cycling, you are eligible to go through training to become a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) and be able to train all levels of riders how to confidently and effectively cycle for fun, fitness, and transportation!</span></p>

Payment Information

Any cancellation requested within two weeks of the class will be refunded less a 50% administrative fee. Notice of cancellation must be sent to the League Cycling Instructor via email. Cancellations made within two weeks of the class will not be refunded. Transferring your registration to another class is by the decision of the League Cycling Instructor organizing the class.
