BSV School Support Volunteers: 
  • must be fully COVID vaccinated & cleared by BSV, before they can serve. (Please allow a full week between applying and service launch, as BSV is managing hundreds of requests)
  • may only volunteer at one site in one classroom (to minimize exposure)
  • must sign in and sign out at the school's main office - every visit! (for contact tracing, as necessary)
  • must obtain (from main office) & wear a BSV Volunteer sticker at all times while on a BUSD campus

In efforts to keep our communities and yourself safe, BSV has updated safety measures in response to COVID-19. Please see below to ensure you are able to meet them. / En un esfuerzo por mantener a nuestras comunidades y a usted mismo saludables, BSV ha actualizado las medidas de seguridad en respuesta al COVID-19. All BSV in-person volunteers will / Todas las voluntarias en persona de BSV van a:

BSV Agreements

  • I am being engaged solely as a volunteer. I will not for any purpose be considered an employee of BSV or BUSD. I will not receive any salary, compensation or other benefits for my volunteer service. / Estoy participando solamente como voluntario. Por ningún motivo se me considerará un empleado de BSV o BUSD. No recibiré ningún salario, compensación, o otros beneficios por mi servicio voluntario.

  • My volunteer assignment(s) will be determined, and may from time to time be changed, by BSV based on program needs and other relevant considerations. / Mi(s) asignatura(s) voluntaria(s) serán determinadas, y podrán cambiar de vez en cuando, por BSV basado en las necesidades del programa y otras consideraciones relevantes.

  • I must comply with the requirements described by the specific BSV project, and any other applicable policies of BSV or BUSD that may be in effect from time to time. COVID-19 Assumption of Risk Agreement / Acuerdo de Asunción de Riesgo COVID-19

By checking below, I assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by participating in the Berkeley Schools Volunteers (BSV) program and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and/or death. In addition, I assume responsibility for adhering to all COVID-19 prevention measures required by BSV or Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD), and compliance with applicable federal, state or local health orders such as the use of personal protective equipment, social distancing, and general hygiene protocols. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to make an informed participation decision, that BSV and BUSD do not control every aspect of my volunteer interactions, and that BSV and BUSD give no assurances or warranties whatsoever as to my safety if I choose to participate in this program. /
