Vocational Grants can support the costs associated with studying a vocational course (of any length) including access courses, traineeships, supported internships and apprenticeships at school, college, sixth form, university or through another training provider. (Students studying only A Levels are not eligible).
You can apply for a grant of up to £1000 to support an education or training need. Examples include the full cost or a contribution
towards:
- Travel costs
- Cost of required
equipment or clothing
- Essential study trips
- IT equipment
This list is not exhaustive so if you have
an idea that fits within the scope of education or training, please call the Grants Team on 01380 73895 to discuss an application. Please note grants are generally paid directly to a third party or organisation on your behalf.
To be eligible to apply:
- you or your family
must receive one means tested benefit or be in the care of Wiltshire Council or Swindon Borough council
(LAC – Looked After Child)
- be aged between 14 - 24
years old
- studying a vocational
course (of any length) including access
courses, traineeships, supported internships and apprenticeships at school,
college, sixth form, university or through another training provider
- lived in Wiltshire or
Swindon for at least two years - if you have not lived in Wiltshire for this long,
