Alert - Increased risk

Your responses indicate you may be at an increased risk of coeliac disease.

We recommend that you make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your need to be screened for coeliac disease. For your convenience, we invite you to download the referral letter created under the guidance of our Medical Advisory Committee to assist in the discussion with your doctor.

The first step is a simple blood test.

It is critical you continue eating gluten until you have completed testing for coeliac disease. If you remove gluten the results may not be accurate.

The first step is a simple blood test.

For the coeliac disease blood test to be accurate, you need to be consuming adequate gluten in your diet. It is important you tell your doctor that you have already reduced your gluten intake. This will affect the testing approach.

Alert - You are not at increased risk

Thank you for taking part in this self assessment. Your responses do not indicate an increased risk of coeliac disease and would not typically prompt testing for coeliac disease. As coeliac disease can cause a wide range of symptoms or medical issues, it is always important to discuss with your medical practitioner any unexplained symptoms or problems you may have.

Please remember, this tool should not replace a proper medical diagnosis. It should be used only to provide an indication of your risk of coeliac disease and provide information that you can take with you to your doctor to assist with discussions about your need to be screened for coeliac disease.
