The Awards recognize outstanding international journalists who demonstrate an extraordinary devotion to the craft by upholding and promoting the highest journalistic standards, despite overwhelming challenges.

The Awards, presented at ICFJ’s Excellence in International Journalism annual awards dinner, honor the struggle for independent, high-quality journalism that makes a difference in communities around the world, especially those without a long history of free media.
