Thank you for taking the time to fill out the Assetmap.org pilot survey.
At assetmap.org, we believe that the world of "international development" too often focuses on what communities lack, and what is wrong with them, rather than on the unique gifts and capacities that they have. Indeed, all communities, no matter how poor or conflict-affected, possess all sorts of important assets that, when recognized and properly harnessed, can provide a basis for locally-led sustainable development.
This survey is designed to help your organization think about the assets you have to share with your fellow community members. After you complete it, the results will be displayed on the www.assetmap.org/uganda website next to your organization's profile. As more and more organizations in Gulu District complete the survey, it is our hope that people will develop a greater appreciation for the variety of assets that exist within the community, and eventually collaboration between groups on locally-led development projects will increase.
Please contact Assetmap Country Directors Jon & Lauren Marino if you have questions: 0775956387, jon@assetmap.org, lauren@assetmap.org.

Assets and Needs
Instructions:
This section is designed to collect information about the full range of assets your organization has and the things you need. "Assets" are any skill, item, relationship or other type of resource that can help your organization achieve its mission. The types of assets we will collect information about fall into a few categories:
- Materials and Equipment
- Space and Facilities
- Financial/economic resources
- Skills and expertise
- Connections/Networks
Each question will ask whether you have, or need, the asset listed. This information will be key to helping you find other organizations that might want to share your assets, or who can help you meet your needs.
There is also space for you to add additional assets that you might have or need that we haven't listed. We encourage you to think creatively about other assets you want to add to the survey!
Please answer whether your organization has any skills or experience in the following areas.
For example, an organization that works with children might say they have skills in "youth leadership development," an organization that focuses on agriculture and farming might say they have expertise in "farming as a business," etc.
