Style and Layout
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
- The two main building blocks of your form are Questions and Sections. You can add them using the buttons located in the toolbar.
- Once added to your form, questions and sections are visible in the form outline. Clicking on an outline item opens the properties panel for that element.
- You can preview your form as you build it. Check the 'auto' option in the toolbar to automatically refresh the preview.
- When your form is ready, click the 'Save' button to save your form and leave the Form Builder.
- Now, click 'Add a Question' to add your first question to your web form.
(You can drag this window to the side if you need to make some room.)
- Your new question is now in the outline and the properties panel is open.
- You can open the properties panel again at any time by clicking on the outline items. Click on the vertical tabs to open and close the other panels.
- In the properties panel, type your question and choose the desired field type. Changes are automatically applied to your form.
- Click on the update preview button to see your new question.
(You can drag this window to the side if you need to make some room.)
- A section is a container for questions. The section the most often used is the 'fieldset', which visually groups questions that are related to each other.
- Sections can also be used to create table-like layouts and multi-page forms.
- To move a question inside a section, drag the question in the outline and drop it over the desired section.
(You can drag this window to the side if you need to make some room.)
- The form properties panel is now open. You can open it again at any time by clicking on the name of your form in the outline.
- In the form properties panel you can change the name of your form and set the labels for the submit and cancel buttons.
- To easily see how each property affects your form, close the outline panel by clicking on its tab, then set the preview to 'auto-update'.
- Now try the different layout options and themes (you'll need at least one question in your form).
